Yankee Stadium Sweep

The Tigers lost another tough one this afternoon as they fell to the Yankees for the third straight game.  Joba Chamberlain was sharp and he outdueled Edwin Jackson in a 2-1 game.  All three runs were scored with solo home runs.  Clete Thomas belted one in the fourth, Alex Rodriguez then tied the game in the bottom half of the inning and then Mark Teixeira struck again with the game winner in the sixth.

Miguel Cabrera finished the game two for four.  Jackson took the hard luck loss and he fell to 7-5.  He gave up two runs on five hits and five walks with four strikeouts in seven innings.  Oddly none of those walks came back to haunt him.

Lloyd divx Kid Galahad download It sounds like help might be on the way soon in Carlos Guillen.  He’s playing for Lakeland right now (.250/.438/.333 in five games) but it sounds like he’s heading for Toledo starting next week.  The Tigers now have a day off to get home before they play eleven games in ten days with the final three being in the heat down in Arlington.  The White Sox lost though, so the Tigers held on to their game and a half lead.    The Twins won though so they’re now tied with the Sox for second place.
