Tigers Trade French and Robles for Jarrod Washburn

The Tigers hopefully got their upgrade as they dealt their current fifth starter, Lucas French, to the Mariners along with Mauricio Robles for veteran starter Jarrod Washburn.  French has been solid as a fill for the Tigers but it looks like he also did just well enough to get shipped out of town.  I like this deal.  French appeared to be near the end of his nice run with a bad start against the Rangers on Tuesday and Robles, while only 20, is probably at least two years away from doing anything in a Tigers uniform.

Washburn, on the other hand, has had quite season and I’m sure he turned some heads last weekend when the Mariners were in town.  Now we just need to get Rick Porcello back on track and hopefully Armando Galarraga can bounce back so we have a nice, solid rotation the rest of the way.
